Library Visit for Science Week
During Science week we were so lucky to visit a scientist in Athboy Library. We tested the strength of a jelly sweet using a jelly, a s hook, string and a bottle of water. We also used measuring cups. This was a very fun and interesting scientific experiment. A huge thank you to Athboy Library for inviting us to attend this event for free.

Credit Union 5th/6th

Thank you to the Athboy Credit Union for inviting us to take part in the Credit Union Competition. This year we are thinking about ‘The Joys of Life’
Here are our gorgeous entries:

Procedural Writing and Measuring
5th and 6th class have been learning about procedural writing in English and in Maths we have learned about Measure. What better way to test out our measuring skills than making a chocolate biscuit cake/Rocky Road! I can assure you we know how to measure weights in grams, kg and other useful measurements used in cooking. We can also write a great recipe for others to use!

Visit to ARC in Athboy Community School
On Friday the 27th of September 4th/5th and 6th class were invited by Athboy community school to visit the Aquatic Remote classroom which is an initiative ofBord Iascaigh Mhara .
A huge thank you to Athboy Community school for inviting us to have such a fantastic learning experience and Hugh and Áine the lecturers who taught as all we need to know about life in the past, the geography of Ireland, the world eco systems and the aquaculture to name just a few things we learned! It was an interesting and interactive way of learning using Virtual Reality(VR) and lights and visuals.
